my first ever pottery barn purchase

You might already know that I adore my friend Stephanie... well she gave me an amazing idea last year and I love it so much I want to share it with you!

Every year she gets each of her kids a unique ornament to reflect on their year.

So I started this last year, and had to back track a bit with Z. I highly recommend this idea for you and your kiddos- It's so much fun for the kids to have their very own ornaments, and it helps you to remember what your kids were like at different ages.

Although I have to say I refuse to buy anything gaudy as it will be on my tree for 18 years... {ha}

So here's what I have so far:

Christmas No. 1 

Both girls have 'Baby's First Christmas' ornaments

Christmas No. 2

Anah: {a 'sweet' cookie ornament- she loves food and is just the sweetest thing!}

Zuriah: a kitty ornament {she was obsessed}

Christmas No. 3

Zuriah: ballerina slippers ornament {ballerinas were her very favorite}

Christmas No. 4

Zuriah: this too cute little ornament from Pottery Barn. She always pretends she's a baby animal, and pretending to be 'baby squirrel' is her favorite.

I love Pottery Barn. I frequent it often, but I'm one of those people who always just browse and never buy {I always just think, "I can make that for so much cheaper!"}

Well I couldn't pass this up for $5 and didn't have a clue how to make a squirrel head and tail {let alone make it that cute}.

So there you have it, my first ever Pottery Barn purchase!

Well... I just got back from my fabulous moms group in which we planned our Christmas party and chatted for hours. Lovely. Love those girls. So as I fully intended to get to the bag tutorial, I had girl time instead, so tomorrow ok?

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I was so blessed to spend it with one of my best friends in the world {Mrs. Volkert}. It was beautiful. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful friends.

Then if spending 6 hours with one of my best friends in the world wasn't enough, I got to spend the rest of the night with my other best friend- I was so honored to accompany Mrs. Parker midnight shopping on Thursday, {which I must say I have never done ever before... and that includes any type of Black Friday shopping before 3 pm}. It was fun. Very fun. We only watched as everyone rushed through the doors, and we ate donuts and chatted for a long time with no kids {not to mention shopping and trying to stay awake}. I will definitely do it again, but only if I can go with someone equally as entertaining! {also a big thanks to Mr. Varner who let me sleep in}.

I simply adore my friends.

{Period Movies}
Although I'm not too much a fan of books... mostly because I can't get out of them and end up wasting days upon days... movies are much quicker and more enjoyable for me

Yes, I do end up wanting to call Ben "Mr. Varner" when I'm finished watching, and use words like "disagreeable" and "splendid." {and I do prefer the BBC version of P&P... with some exceptions}

{Antique Shops}
the cutest antique town ever... Paxico, Kansas

Especially antique furniture. In this particular town they had a baby cradle that was 200 years old and came to Kansas by covered wagon. I would furnish my entire house in antiques if I could afford it.

{Mannheim Steamroller}
I grew up with it, what can I say? And I'm rather festive.

{England}
I think I love the history and charm... and cute little ancient towns like Bath... and Canterbury is also a fav. I would love to live there but doubt I could ever leave my family {or my family could stand to be away from the girlies}.

{Designer Fabric}
I'd love to one day own my own boutique and carry all my favorites. Just looking at all of it makes me happy!
